In mainland China, letters usually end with "此致,敬礼", but that's usually only in formal letters. Emails usually omit that.

That's just like "can" in English.

e.g. Can you tell me what time it is? is the same with "Will" you tell me what time it is? instead of "are you able to" tell me what time it is?

As Vera pointed out "百折不挠" is a good translation.

And McharmingM, the reason you didn't understand that word is because the word is spelled as "equivalent" and not "equivilant".

The character is 恋 lian4 and it means "love", just like 爱 ai4.

That's why 恋 and 爱 usually come together to form the phrase 恋爱 and the frequent phrase 谈恋爱 means "to be in a (male-female) relationship".
